Nerve conduction speed (NCV) is a test to perceive how quick electrical signs travel through a nerve. This test is done alongside electromyography (EMG) to survey the muscles for irregularities. Glue patches called surface cathodes are put on the skin over nerves or muscles at various spots. An extremely gentle electrical motivation is applied by means of different patches or a handheld trigger to animate the nerve. The subsequent electrical movement of the nerve is recorded by the terminals. The distance among cathodes and the time it takes for electrical driving forces to go between anodes are utilized to gauge the speed of the nerve signals. It is typical for a very long time of nerves to be tried. EMG is the recording from needles set into the muscles. This is frequently done during a similar visit as NCV.
